About Us

For nearly 29 years, Boston’s poor and homeless women have found refuge at the Women’s Lunch Place. In 1982, we opened our doors by serving lunch to 12 women, three days per week. Today, we are open six days per week, offering a full continuum of services to more than 150 women daily.

Services include a nutritious food program, featuring a buffet breakfast and a lunchtime meal served restaurant style in our dining room; shower and laundry facilities; a Resource Center; distribution of seasonal clothing and toiletries; and the personal services of bilingual advocates. In addition, our guests are invited to participate in outings and Creative Expressions classes.
